Insomnium (offline-only fork of Insomnia) is dead
Insomnium Project was archived on Jul 20, 2024. Insomnium was a fork of Insomnia, a Postman alternative that didn't need account creation or online connectivity. Kong Inc. bought Insomninia and added that requirement anyways.

The last status from the project: 'Due to another related project, this repo is no longer being actively maintained. (You are welcomed to fork this and continue from here on)'

But it is unfortunate for current Insomnium users that the related project isn't listed or named. There no longer seems to be a Postman alternative works 100% offline, the way a local testing tool should behave.

(Resubmitting this post since the original submission seems missing. Maybe I misclicked somehow)

The online requirements for Postman (and now Insomnia) was a deal-breaker wether to use it at work. We opted for Bruno[1], which is local-only

Never heard of Bruno before - looks like an interesting alternative.

I'm not in love with the fact that it advertises itself as open source, but when you dig into it, there's a fair number of features that apparently belong to a source proprietary payware fork.

It's an "open core" model, then, no? Not entirely uncommon. It's also $19 for a perpetual license with 2 years of updates... seems totally fair. https://www.usebruno.com/pricing

(Not affiliated with them, but am a user. It's not as featureful as Postman, but often good enough.)

"Due to another related project", what project is that?

I just use an old version of Insomnia from before they added the account requirement and I will use it until the day it stops working.
